Summary:
Insures secure and safe conditions for employees, patients and visitors.
Protects hospital building and premises.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATIONHigh School or equivalent requiredValid current NYS driver's License required.
Must report any moving violations to department head within (7) days of convictionSecurity Guard License required upon completion of training courseCurrent documented security training course as required by New York StateEXPERIENCEOriented by another security guard before commencing work Three (3) months previous experience in security operations preferredCPR helpfulCriminal justice law enforcement or related field preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY Must be able to read reports and instructionsMust be able to communicate in writing and orallyResearch informationAnswer telephonesInput data into computer programsMaintain logsTwo way radio for communicationBasic Personal computer operationMust be able legally operate a motor vehicleFaxPhotocopierWORKING CONDITIONSExposed to dangers of assaults/hazards from investigating alarmsOccasionally subject to violent acts from visitors or patientsFrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditionsFrequently moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to high, precarious placesOccasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold or extreme heatOccasionally exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens, housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicalsOccasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicalsOccasionally exposed to extreme heatMay be exposed to infections and contagious diseasesOccasionally may be exposed to fumes or airborne particlesOccasionally subjected to irregular hoursRegularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseasesMay be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditionsSalary:
